If truth exists it must be exclusive and the process by which it is derived must be self-authenticating and universally authoritative.
Our present culture of tolerance is fueled by technology, terrorism, tragedy and time. The ramifications are brutal. How can we escape? How can we engage?
Tolerance, however is inclusive and relative and presumes that all views have equal credibility, even if those views are contradictory.
We are left with two options: Theism or Naturalism (Transcendentalism is philosophically weak).
Naturalism is severely limited as an explanation of reality.
Evolution (not science) is more persuasive to a culture and throughout history, as a philosophy more than a theory.
Nature is permeated with design. humanity is permeated by design and a purposeness/personess beyond the explanation of naturalism/science.
If there is design, there must be a designer..., a "first cause" who must be sovereign (perfect and powerful) to be able to exist.
Design presumes the desire of the designer to create...and to communicate.
Nature and humanity are obviously groaning. the groan presumes an imperfect creator/designer, a flaw in the design or the existence of choice by the created to reject obedience to and relationship with the creator.
Since God/Designer/First Cause is sovereign (perfect and powerful) and has allowed "choice" to his design, He must of necessity be able to fix (redeem or restore) the design in order to maintain perfection.
Design and "the groan" each tell us something about the nature of man and the nature of God.
Present culture, history and a bleak future (not a naturalistic-induced utopia) show us that nature and humanity are groaning and that their groping toward purpose/God is futile.
It is necessary that God/Designer finds us and speaks to us. How can that be accomplished?! Has it been accomplished?!
